Perps With Stolen Semi Tires on Top of Car Attract Cops
Early Wednesday morning, a Hermiston police officer saw something rather out of the ordinary, a passenger car with large semi-truck tires strapped to the roof.
Around 2:23am, an officer on patrol near 1st and Elm street saw a primer gray Chevy Impala drive by, with the two large tires on top. He swung around to get a better look at the configuration, but then as he did, the car sped away.
After a series of left and right turns, the officer saw one of the tires, then the other, rolling down the street! He finally caught up with the vehicle and found 3 people inside, all from Pasco, 33-year-old Richard Ingersoll, 37-year-old Crystal Smith and 33-year-old Michael Garrison.
Additional police units arrived, and they found the trio had stolen the tires from the Pilot Truck Stop in Stanfield. Police also found numerous items the suspect has stolen from the truck stop store. All three are now in the Umatilla County Jail on various charges.
Wonder if one of them is traveling a load not property secured?
