Richland Driver Charged in Gruesome 3-Fatality Intersection Crash
A 19-year-old Richland woman is facing three counts of vehicular homicide after a shocking early Sunday morning crash.
Cars racing result in crash, suspect vehicle split in half
Around 2:45 AM Richland Police responded to the intersection of George Washington Way and Jadwin for a report of a crash. Upon arrival they found a black vehicle had crashed head-on into a large utility pole, shearing the vehicle in half.
3 dead persons were found inside the car, a fourth was taken to an area hospital and is in stable condition.
The names of the 3 deceased persons have not been released per request from the families at this time. Police said two were 19 and one was 20-years old.
Police say street racing is what likely led to the crash. The black car was racing a white 201-2011 four-door BMW sedan that was seen fueling up in the 1400 block of GW Way prior to the crash.
19-year-old Jennifer Duong of Richland is the person arrested and charged in the case, Police said she was driving the destroyed car. The driver of the white BMW came forward of their own accord to Police as did a witness.
The investigation continues in the area.
