Suspect Driver Jailed After Wild I-82 Road Rage Crash

A 44-year-old man is facing a slew of charges in Yakima and Benton County, following a massive road-rage incident Monday late afternoon (July 20).

The Man Was Involved in Several Hit-And-Run Collisions

The Benton County Sheriff's Office assisted the Washington State Patrol during a crash that began on I-82 in Yakima County, and finally ended between the Dallas and Badger Exits outside of Kennewick.

Wesley Burgess Young was in several collisions following the hit-and-run, and then he ended up headed eastbound on I-82. Law Enforcement agencies chased Young eastbound, laying down spike strips at several locations.

Despite Spike Strips The Driver Kept Going

The BCSO says Young lost control, and lost control between mile markers 105 and 106, rolling into the median. Officers said Young suffered visible injuries, and was then strapped and secured. He was handed over to WSP, for his jailing.

During the chase, the suspect reached speeds of over 100 MPH, and his vehicle hada not license plate. No other drivers were injured during the incident.
