Search for Body in Zintel Canyon in Kennewick Turns up Empty

Authorities believe witnesses may have seen a sleeping transient.

After getting a report Tuesday evening from a girl walking across the Zintel Canyon Bridge in Kennewick, police and authorities searched extensively between 7th and 10th Streets.

They even brought in a dog specially trained to find human remains, but the dog was not able to locate any. The area is rather swampy and it took officers some time to cover the ground. Police say the region is covered with extensive trees, shrubs weeds and undergrowth and is a common stopping point for transients.
