It's expected that President Obama will soon tap Senator (and former presidential candidate) John Kerry to replace Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State.  That won't go over well with veterans!

Despite himself being a Vietnam vet,  Kerry has made a career out of criticizing and fabricating lies about the military when it suits his political career.   Obama, according to the Associated Press, plans to nominate Kerry for the Secretary of State position.

The checkered military past of Kerry was brought to light in 2005 when Kerry essentially threw American servicemen in Vietnam (including some he directly served with) under the bus.  Kerry said it reminded him of alleged atrocities he claims U.S. soldiers committed in Vietnam.

By way of a hard-hitting expose from Sean Hannity,  in 1971 when Kerry was testifying before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee about the Vietnam war, he said this about U.S. soldiers:

KERRY: They relive the absolute horror of what this country, in a sense, made them do. They told the stories of times that they had personally raped, cut off the ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in a fashion reminiscent of Genghis Kahn, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam, in addition to the normal ravage of war.

Kerry also made headlines when he accused U.S. soldiers of basically the same type of harrasment in Iraq in 2005:

SEN. JOHN KERRY, D-MASS.: And there is no reason, Bob, that young American soldiers need to go into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children, you know, women --

His Vietnam allegations were met with a fierce and fast response from former Vietnam swift boat vets, some of who actually served with him, saying most of what he said was fabricated.   In fact the now-famous Swift Boat Veterans group was able to prove many of the soldiers Kerry quoted as reference about the alleged atrocities didn't even serve overseas!

Now,  many critics are speculating if Obama pushes through his nomination of Kerry for the Secretary position, veterans from all over America will respond, resist the selection and fight.

Nominating Kerry for Secretary of State would be like asking the Grinch to take over for Santa Claus at the North Pole!
