Tuesday evening, Walla Walla County Sheriff's deputies responded to a call about a shooting near the Paddock Elevators, and found a shooting victim.

Authorities say the 20-year-old man had called 911 himself, but due to his deteriorating condition, was not able to answer all the officer's questions. The man was taken to St. Marie's Medical Center, then flown to Harborview in Seattle.

Deputies said he was in serious condition when they arrived. Officials say it's the latest incident at the elevators in Walla Walla County, which has become an area of concern over gang activity. The shooting is believed to be gang related. The elevators are located near Paddock Road and Harvey Shaw Roads.

Gang markings and other evidence shows gang activity in the area has increased.
