West Richland police continue to investigate somebody's unsuccessful attempt to steal the change dispenser from the West Richland Laundromat.

Police say the damage was noticed sometime Wednesday at the car wash, located at 5413 West Van Giesen.

It's believed the suspect tried to break it off the wall sometime overnight.  Despite evidence of significant damage to the wall surrounding the box, they weren't able to pry it loose.  According to one report, the way these devices are anchored to the wall, the suspect would have probably had to use a saws-all to cut it out and take the wall behind with it.

Had the suspect been successful, they might have had a hard time 'changing' all the coins all at once at the bank. Most laundromat and car wash owners are known to bank workers, and this would have seemed suspicious.
