  Fatal crash involving two vehicles on SR 14 Friday morning

Trooper Chris Thorson of the Washington State Patrol said an early morning crash on State Route 14 closed the highway in both directions for several hours Friday morning.

The crash occurred not far from the interchange with I-82.

As of about 8:40 AM, the highway was re-opened.

Not a lot of information has been released yet, but Thorson and KVEW TV report at least one fatality, and several other people taken to area hospitals.

The crash involved two vehicles, based upon WSP pictures one of them was a pickup.

The injuries to the other persons in the crash were said to be serious. More information is expected to be released later.
