Social Security Debuts Newly Redesigned Website
The Social Security Administration has rolled out their new website, the 4th major revision since 1994.
SSA first went online 29 years ago
SSA said in a release there are some new improved benefits. They include:
- "Increased visibility for my Social Security account sign-up and sign-in, making it easier for users to view benefit estimates, apply for benefits, check application status, or request a replacement card.
- Life Events section and webpages to guide customers who are unsure where to start, helping those facing major life changes understand how Social Security can support them and providing entry points to more detailed resources for specific scenarios.
- Enhanced access to third-party services (such as employers, representative payees, appointed representatives, and government agencies) to make these resources easier to locate.
- Easily scannable content to improve findability, categorize information, and guide users.
- An adaptable website structure to ensure ongoing improvements that better meet users’ needs."
The goal of the redesign was to encourage users to be able to perform many tasks that otherwise would require a visit to their local office, and save them time.
