Suspect Arrested in Fatal Kennewick Hit-And-Run from February
Some relief for the family, at least for now.
Suspect identified, arrested in fatal hit-and-run
You may recall back on February 6th, when 28-year-old Nyellie Perez was struck by a vehicle while she was crossing the street in the 5000 block of West Clearwater. The incident occurred just prior to 9:30 PM.
At the time she was considered critically injured and was rushed to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where she passed away on February 25th with her family by her side.
Tragic death rocks community
Now a suspect has been identified and arrested. Kennewick Police say 27 year old Aaron James Hill was taken into custody with help from US Marshals.
At the time of the crash, Hill and other "occupants" (according to KPD) pulled to the side of the road, and abandoned the car, fleeing on foot.
Police didn't elaborate on what led them to Hill, but he's been formally charged in the incident. He's now in the Benton County Jail.
