A low carbon fuel standard is gas or diesel that contains a lot more biofuel, and attempts to lower the 'impact' of carbon from fossil fuels. It tends to be significantly more expensive that traditional fuels.

The Democrat Controlled House Environment and Energy Committee passed House Bill 1091, now it heads to floor for debate and likely vote. It's the one that would jack up gas prices as much as $.57 cents per gallon.
