New information released by WIAA contains misleading information, says show host/reporter.

Back on September 2nd, we told you about SAW, the growing group of HS athletes who are pressuring state, WIAA, to open up.

Originally, girls swimming and diving, cross country, golf and tennis were moved to Season 1, that would start (with practices) Sept. 7. However, in some counties, that could be in jeopardy.

In a move that turns the HS and other sports world 'upside down,' the WIAA has bumped football, volleyball and soccer to spring.

for the first time in WA State history, HS football will be a spring sport.

The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association is pushing the fall football season to start September 5th and other fall sports to start September 7th. It's likely younger youth (pre h.s.) sports will follow suit, as they usually mirror what the "bigger kids" do.

If you're a fan of baseball, and the best high school baseball in the state, you should come to GESA Stadium starting at 10am April 28th.  The Tri-City Dust Devils and Dutch Bros present the GESA Baseball Classic. That Saturday ,the Mid Columbia Conference schools will be playing their final regular season games before Districts and Regionals...

Tri-City officials are happy because the Mid-Columbia Conference will be getting another 3A competitor. Hermiston officials are happy because their athletes won't be living on a bus for 3 weeks out of the year. Hermiston will become the first out-of-state school to ever join the WIAA and compete in Washington sports.

All the necessary pieces appear to be in place, now it's likely just up to the OSAA (Oregon Schools Activities Association) to determine if Hermiston will move North sports-wise and join the Mid Columbia Conference.
