That’s NOT Santa Hiding Behind That Building! Car Prowler

Two Grinches were apprehended by Kennewick Police early Christmas Eve day morning after a report of a car prowl.

Officers responded to the area of West Albany Ave. and North Irving place just after 1am for a report of a couple of people trying to break into cars. An officer saw a man acting suspiciously, and he got into a vehicle that was parked (hiding) behind a business. From police photos, it appeared to be the Guesthouse International Suites hotel on Clearwater, across the street.

Officers made contact with the man and woman in the car, and the female suspect, identified as 26-year-old Brooke Dahlke, tried to run away. She was quickly apprehended and arrested on outstanding warrants and for false reporting (lying about ID) and resisting arrest.

Her partner in crime, 27-year-old Thomas Ruane, was arrested on a warrant and for the alleged car prowl.
