Monday afternoon Benton County Deputies paid a visit to a property in Finley, acting on a tip that a stolen motorcycle might be there.

It was, but the 'owner' had purchased it from another party. Turns out, the cycle had been reported stolen. The registered owner of the classic expensive piece was unable to be reached by Richland officers, but efforts will continue.

Deputies and other law enforcement officers remind citizens, when you're buying anything with wheels (or other substantial purchase) it's a good idea to first check it out to make sure it doesn't really belong to somebody besides whom you're buying it from!

Sage advice! No word from Deputies about the would-be seller.
