Tri-Cities Community Health is working to educate the community on behavioral and mental health through its social media network.

According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, one in four adults, about 57.7 million Americans, experience a mental health issue in a given year. Also, 10 percent of the child population in America is living with a mental or emotional disorder.

Dell Anderson, the director of Behavioral Health Services at Tri-Cities Community Health told local media: “It’s vital that we know where to turn when we’re in need of support or we need to find support for our loved ones.”

Each day in April on its Facebook page, Tri-Cities Community Health will provide information about mental health, tips from providers, uplifting quotes and motivational videos to help community members cope with life’s everyday obstacles.

The health agency’s behavioral health team is comprised of psychiatrists, registered nurses, chemical dependency professionals, counselors, therapists and case managers. They are dedicated professionals who are sensitive to the diversity of cultural and linguistic backgrounds in the Tri-Cities area. The health agency can help patients needing brief individual counseling, case management, counseling for children and teens, a mental health consultation, training, detoxification services and medical care services.

Tri-Cities Community Health serves the entire Tri-Cities geographical area by providing those in need with access to quality health care.
