Two separate crashes have kept Richland Police and the Washington State Patrol very occupied Thursday morning.

FATAL CRASH ON HIGHWAY 240 OUTSIDE OF RICHLAND

Shortly after 6:00 AM Thursday morning WSP Troopers responded to a fatal crash on Highway 240 (SR 240) about three miles west of Richland. Trooper Chris Thorson, the Public Information Officer for WSP in our region, says three vehicles were involved. One person has died, three others were injured. No other details were released.

Shortly afterward, a crash involving at least two vehicles occurred near the intersection of George Washington Way and Comstock, Richland Police said it blocked most of the lanes on GW Way and they were detouring traffic. No word on how it occurred, but Police said the crash was "serious" with injuries. UPDATE--one person has died from this crash as well.

It appears a passenger car and truck were involved.
