Following an extensive undercover operation, Tuesday Kennewick police and officials with the Washington State Department of Health AND Homeland Security (!) raided and shut down three unlicensed massage parlors in Kennewick, and one woman was arrested.

The investigation began after several customers of the "99 Spa" salon located at 7903 West Grandridge, "Dragonfly Massage" at 8903 West Gage Suite B, and "Holiday Massage" at 1915 North Steptoe reported employees were not following legal procedures. In some cases, what turned out to be untrained and unlicensed workers even caused injuries to patients.

Police set up what turned into a 3 month operation, and Tuesday raided the three salons. 47-year-old Jingi Liang of Colfax, WA was arrested, and will likely be charged with a Class "C" felony for this and repeated massage-related violations. Officers say several other employees are likely to face charges as well.

The businesses were immediately shut down and their business licenses revoked, leading to a most ""unhappy" ending for some of the clientele.  No official word if 'other' activities were going along with the illegal massage therapy, and injuries.
