UPDATE–I-84 Now Open Near Pendleton After Hazmat Crash

Officials now say I-84 is open again both ways after a hazardous spill was cleaned up.

Earlier Thursday morning, a truck carrying various hazardous materials crashed and caught fire. It included cigarette lighters, cleaning chemicals and some other items.

No injuries were reported, but the backup snarled traffic for miles. The interstate West bound was closed at Milepost 265 near LaGrande, the accident occurred near 207 by Pendleton.
