UPDATE–Stabbing Suspect Shot by Police in Pasco has Died
UPDATE--the man shot by Pasco Police after he fatally stabbed another person has died.
Suspect charged at Officers with a knife after stabbing man Sunday
As we earlier reported, around 11:40 AM Sunday, Police were called to the area of 6th and Lewis where two men were having a physical confrontation.
When Police arrived, they found one man had been stabbed by the other, the victim died despite life-saving efforts by Police and then EMS. The suspect, when confronted by two other Police Officers, refused to follow commands, and despite efforts to de-escalate the issue by Police, the man continued to advance towards them with the knife.
He was shot by one of the Officers, the SIU (Special Investigations Unit) says the man was hit by at least one bullet.
Suspect died at an area hospital
The SIU, who is handling the investigation, says the man died at Kadlec Regional Medical Center after being brought there following the shooting. Hospital officials did not say if he died Sunday or Monday, but it was confirmed today (Monday 3-14) that he passed.
The SIU is expected to release more information on Tuesday, March 15th, including the names of the victim, suspect, and the officers involved.
