Wapato Man Nabbed at Would-Be Meet Up with Minor for ‘Immoral Purposes’

The Kittitas County Sheriff's Office (Ellensburg) did not divulge how the learned of the man's plans.

The suspect's name was not released, but Wednesday afternoon KCSO Detectives intercepted the man, based on his arrest image, appeared to be in some sort of park.

Officers learned the man had traveled from Wapato to meet up with a minor, Deputies said the suspect intended to "sexually assault a child."

He was located and arrested without incident, and is in the Kittitas County Jail on the following charges, according to the Sheriff's Department:

"Attempted Rape of a Child and Communicating with a Minor for Immoral Purposes."
