Watch This World Record Waterslide Winding Down Over 9000 Feet
Things to do in China. The Great Wall? Classic and cool, but if you want to throw in motion, adventure and wetness on like, say, a waterslide? Then yes, China needs to be on your bucket list.
They have one that's about a mile-and-a-half long, taking two years to build and was certified by Guinness as the world's longest mountain/hillside waterslide. It's a combination waterslide AND rafting adventure. It gets up to speeds of almost 20 miles an hour and lasts for about an hour. If you're interested, it's in Lishui, China, which is about 400 miles south of Shanghai.
A spokesman for the park where the ride is located said, "Our plan was to build a water slide which would enable visitors to view the whole park and we did not intend to break the world record. Nevertheless I am proud of what we have achieved."
