WSDOT announced that Monday July 13, travelers near the summit of White Pass will experience delays of about 15 minutes as road traffic is down to one-way.  Crews will continue to repave and work the road until October, when it will be paused. This is a map of part of the paving area.

According to the Washington State Department of Transportation website:

"Once spring returns, snow melts from the mountains and the weather becomes more favorable, in May or June 2027, contractor crews will resume paving near the summit, followed by paving near the junction of US 12 and State Route 123 and a section of US 12 east of Rimrock Lake."

Officials said it will allow for smoother, safer travel.
