The Benton County Sheriff's Office is investigating a mysterious discovery of a wrecked car.

A sharp-eyed citizen spots a car at the bottom of a hill

The BCSO reported Friday, September 8th, that they were alerted to the wrecked car, which had apparently been pushed off the back or south side of Jump Off Joe hill south of Kennewick.  Authorities determined that's likely what happened due to the damage to the vehicle.

The car was recently reported as having been stolen but officials did not say when.

No word how long the vehicle might have been there.  Suspects have found interesting ways of getting rid of stolen vehicles. Over the last couple of years, several were found abandoned and burned out in Franklin County, and in 2021 a stolen Nissan Pathfinder near Benton City was found having been driven into a large irrigation canal.
