For over 70 years, young children have been injured by window blind cords. Many safety standards and recalls have been voluntarily placed by the companies that sell them to prevent accidents, but a study shows that between 1990 and 2015, approximately 16,827 children younger than 6 have been hospitalized for window-blind related injuries in the U.S., including 271 deaths.

The study concludes that window blind cords are hazardous, despite the safety standards implemented. It also states that "a mandatory safety standard that eliminates accessible window blind cords should be adopted." Make sure your children are safe!
