The investigation continues, and authorities have not said why a 20-year-old woman slammed her SUV into the back of a Prosser school bus Monday morning, slightly injuring 3 of the 26  children on board.

Officials say the bus had a mix of students, from kindergarten to high school on board. It was traveling on West North River Road near South River Road shortly after 7am. The bus stopped, apparently to pick up some children. Before it left, the SUV slammed into the back of the bus.

The driver, who's name was not released, was injured and the front of her vehicle destroyed. Three students on the bus were checked at the scene by First Responders after they complained about various aches from the wreck. The woman was taken to the hospital with wrist and knee injuries, but her condition was not serious, according to YakTrinews.com

The SUV was bent and badly twisted all the way to the firewall and windshield.
