Woman Dies of Early Morning Gunshot Wound in Kennewick
An investigation is in the early stages after a fatal shooting early Friday morning in Kennewick.
Police Lt. Aaron Klem said around 3:30AM Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of West Bruneau Place. After arriving, they found a 25-year-old woman suffering from a single gunshot wound. Where the wound was located was not disclosed.
The location is just west of Steptoe Street, and north of Clearwater Ave.
While awaiting arrival of EMS, immediate lifesaving measures were started by Officers on scene, and were continued shortly afterwards by Kennewick Fire Department medics.
The victim was rushed to an area hospital, but tragically was later pronounced dead. The incident has now been turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division. Details are few, but authorities did say one person was with the woman at the time of the shooting, and they are cooperating with authorities.
Kennewick Police believe they have identified all persons related to the incident, and there is no other public threat at this time.
