Woman Shot in Kennewick Early Tuesday Morning

Kennewick Police say the investigation is in the very early stages.

Woman taken to hospital shot in the arm

Around 5:15 AM Tuesday morning Kennewick Police were called to the 2900 block of West 7th for a report of a woman having been shot. The previous picture show Police at the scene, the image below is an older google maps image. The location is just west of Highway 395/Ely in Kennewick.

They located her at the scene and found she'd taken a bullet to her arm. She was transported to an area hospital with "non-threatening" injuries.

  A party preceded the incident?

KPD says there was apparently some sort of party at the location, and sometime during the event, a person fired a gun, possibly multiple times. It's possible there was an exchange of gunfire, but the scene is still being processed. It's believed during this incident the woman was hit.

KPD Detectives will be at the location most of the day Tuesday, gathering evidence and continuing to examine the location. More details are expected later.

It is not known at this time if this incident was gang-related.
