According to a study performed by 24/7 Wall Street, Yakima ranks 4th in the entire U.S. for highest percentage of households who are on food stamps/EBT cards.

24/7 Wall Street is a financial newswatch partner of USA Today, and released the results July 16th. According to the survey/study, SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) help in Yakima is utilized by some 24.2% of households. That coupled with a top 20% poverty rate, landed Yakima high on the list. Yakima ranked near the top in poverty levels besides SNAP use.
