After 1:30 am, not too many people are "shopping" inside JC Penney!

Early Wednesday morning,  an employee at the Columbia Center Mall JC Penney in Kennewick called police and said they had an alarm tripped at the store.   Police responded with a K-9 unit, and after clearing the store and sweeping dressing rooms, found Douglas Kent Harper of Pendleton hiding inside, wearing clothing stolen from the store!

Douglas was arrested and jailed on a 2nd. degree burglary charge, and was also found to be a fugitive as he was facing an outstanding felony warrant from Oregon.

No one else was found inside the store or mall, and it is believed Harper was acting alone.    Maybe he chose to do this because his credit card was rejected.
