The Boys & Girls Club of Benton and Franklin Counties is having it's annual Dinner with Friends fundraising event at the Convention Center in Kennewick. Proceeds from Dinner with Friends go to supporting over 2,000 local youth members. Every year, a well-known Club Alumni or supporter is welcomed as a keynote speaker. This year, however, they will be having a four-time World Heavyweight Boxing Champion, Evander Holyfield (A.K.A. "The Real Deal").

Holyfield is both Club Alumni and a passionate Boys & Girls Club supporter, especially due to the lessons he learned with the Club and the impact it had on his life and career. He began boxing in his grade school years at the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta until he joined the 1984 U.S. Olympic team, but since then, he puts his time and resources to Clubs in support of the mission: to empower all young people, especially those who need them most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

As for the dinner, it is exclusively for members of the Club. However, they are still accepting sponsors for the dinner.
