It is with a heavy heart that we bring you this news. According to a report from KNDU, 14-year-old  Hunter Connor died on Saturday, Jan. 25 after a snowboarding accident at Bluewood. Connor was an eighth grader at Columbia Burbank Middle School.

Ski Bluewood Director of Business Operations, Brandy Ream, said ski patrol was called at 12:15 p.m. on reports of an injured snowboarder. When they arrived to the top of Country Road (a beginners run) the boy was conscious and speaking. He told them he had caught an edge and fallen face-forward. According to the ski patrol he was not wearing a helmet.

Ski patrol continued treatment until the ambulance arrived at 1:45 p.m. Ream said the boy was still conscious at that point.

As of Sunday afternoon, the hospital was "in conference" going over the events of the day.
