The first of what is expected to be a number of lawsuits has been filed in connection with the deadly New Year's Eve bus crash outside of Pendleton, OR.Two Korean exchange students who were among the 39 survivors have filed a lawsuit claiming the driver had worked too many hours without rest, had ignored warnings and was speeding in icy conditions.

The bus slid off Interstate 84 near Pendleton and Cabbage Hill on Dec. 31 shortly after 10 a.m. It rolled several hundred feet down an embankment, throwing passengers from the bus or trapping them inside. The accident investigation continues and a full report is not expected for several weeks. It took several days to get the bus out of the ravine and to a shop where officials from the NTSB (National Transportation Safety Board) could examine it and determine the probable cause and gather more information.
