A short lockdown occurred in Benton City after authorities were chasing a shoplifter in the area.

19-year-old John Dillon, the suspect, was finally caught near the city library.  The elementary and middle schools were briefly locked down for about 15 minutes because the suspect ran through the school property.

He was booked into the Benton County Jail.  According to authorities, Dillon allegedly stole several items from the Ki-Be Market.
