It comes as little surprise to Washingtonians that the Obama administration announced Friday Gov. Jay Inslee has been named to the Task Force on Climate Preparedness and Resilience.

According to Inslee's press release, the committee is charged with helping communities deal with the impacts of climate change.

Huh?

From Inslee's statement on the matter:

Washingtonians are every day seeing the dangerous effects of climate change in more devastating wildfires, increasing ocean acidification, and other impacts that are already taking a toll on our economy and our natural resources. And while we undertake actions to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions that are driving these dangerous climate shifts, we must as a state and nation better prepare our communities and our infrastructure to face these accelerating impacts.”

So now wildfires, storms and other natural disasters are because of climate change? The task force will operate under the assumption that reducing greenhouse gasses will supposedly reduce these disasters.

We must better prepare our communities and our infrastructure to face these accelerating impacts."
