Kennewick police were kept busy over the weekend with a variety of calls, including a body found in Columbia Park.

Saturday morning around 9 a.m., a boater saw what he thought was a dead body on the bank of the river and saw it again as he returned back down the river three hours later. A passer-by in the park also confirmed the sighting. Kennewick police responded and the Benton County Coroner began an investigation. As of Monday, no identity had been released.

Officials say it’s likely the female body was the result of a suicide, reportedly a gun was found nearby.
