The incident occurred early Sunday evening in the Kennewick Fred Meyer parking lot at 10th and Highway 305.

Authorities report shortly before 7pm a black male allegedly approached the victim, a 65-year-old female, and tried to abduct her as she was getting out of her car.

The man entered her car in the back seat, and reportedly told her not to leave the car or move or her would hurt her.  She fought back, and was able to escape and run into the store.

The suspect, meanwhile, fled the scene, possibly in a black sedan.  He is described as being in his early 20's, and he is still at large.  The victim sustained some minor injuries.
