Two teens are in custody in Benton County after police received reports Saturday and Sunday that motorists cars were hit by unknown objects.

Kennewick police arrested a 15 and 16-year-old after an investigation showed they'd allegedly been shooting a BB gun at moving vehicles near 4th and Vancouver.

Multiple reports came in from drivers who reported their windshields were hit with an object, but the motorists didn't know what they were or where the projectiles came from. Some of the vehicles sustained impact marks or visible damage from the pellets.

Neighbors and others reported the two teens were seen shooting the BB gun, and the investigation led the officers to them. They are facing reckless endangerment charges as well as discharging a firearm within city limits. Officials are pressing for the endangerment charges because the two were shooting at moving vehicles.
