Franklin County Prosecutor Sean Sant will NOT be filing criminal charges against the three officers who shot Antonio Zambrano in mid-February in Pasco.

Officers Ryan Flanagan, Adam Wright and Adrian Alaniz were the ones who discharged their weapons after Zambrano, who was high on meth, was throwing large rocks at cars, passers-by and eventually police near 10th and Lewis in Pasco.

He was shot after attempts to tazer him failed.  Of the three officers, Flanagan has resigned from the force, leaving earlier this summer.

Now that no charges will be filed, it's presumed Coroner Dan Blasdel will continue with his efforts to have a Coroner's Inquest as soon as possible.  He reconfirmed this Wednesday on the Newstalk 870 Meet in the Middle program.

The attorney representing the Zambrano family said  the decision not to press charges left the family "disgusted and disappointed" from a statement released shortly after the decision.

Zambrano had a previous criminal record and known drug use, and was known to police in the city.  In January 2014, he attempted to assault and take the firearm from one of two officers who tried to apprehend him. Police had received a call about a man in the area who was walking down the street hitting cars with a broomstick.
