The victim of a homicide in Richland early yesterday morning has left one man dead and now the Richland Police Department have identified the victim.

The victim has been identified as 21 year old Emilio M. Elizondo according to a posting on the Richland Police Facebook page.

They still don't have a suspect in custody but according to the RPD posting, they believe it to be an isolated incident and they don't believe there is a threat to the public.

However police seem to believe he was 'targeted' by the suspect(s).

RPD is still listing this as an ongoing and active investigation though so any information concerning the shooting will help in the investigation.

If you missed the original report from yesterday, here are the details.

At about 4:23 am this morning officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Goethals Dr., initially on a weapons complaint and then an assault with a weapon. The reporting party stated an adult male had been shot. Initial responding officers found a 21-year-old male deceased from gunshot wounds at the scene. The incident does not appear to be random. This is an active investigation. North and southbound lanes of Goethals Dr., between Davenport St. and Comstock St. are closed while detectives process the scene. We are asking motorists and pedestrians use an alternate route if they need to travel through the area.
