“Rod-Swinging” Burglary Suspect Sought in Kennewick

Some are now calling him the "rod swinger' because of the way the suspect threatened workers at a Kennewick store where he was shoplifting.

Tri-Cities Crime Stoppers are looking for a suspect who originally would have probably been charged with shoplifting theft, but now it's considered robbery because of threats made to store workers.

The man, pictured in this photo, stole a can of beer from the Grocery Outlet-Bargain Market store on the corner of Olympia and 4th. in Kennewick. When he left, he was confronted by the store manager. Apparently the man had some sort of metal rod with him, and he threatened to manager with it. This photo came from surveillance store footage.
