Savage Show Censored by Network, Listeners Get Re-Run
If you listen to Michael Savage on Newstalk870, you probably noticed the 8-9pm hour was a little different. Savage was alerted that in New York, on his flagship station WABC, his show was mysteriously "pre-empted" for a couple of back-bencher hosts Monday night.
Savage, who's never shied away from controversy and voicing his opinion, was suggesting that Hillary Clinton was suffering from Parkinson's Disease, when his show was abruptly replaced in New York.
Savage, as you probably heard on Newstalk870, was railing against the network about this issue, then Westwood One substituted a previous segment in his final hour.
Needless to say, we're unhappy about it, and we have notified the syndicator we won't tolerate it either. Keep listening tonight at 6pm to see what transpires in the showdown between Savage and his network. Based upon previous experience, Savage will likely win. He's pretty proficient at playing 'chicken,' and he never blinks.
It's not coincidence Westwood One did this, Breitbart.com was the first to report on it. Here's what they had to say about the issue:
"Savage, host of the nationally syndicated The Savage Nation radio program, was discussing Hillary’s health and suggested she may have Parkinson’s disease when he was alerted that his show had been pulled from the air on New York’s WABC radio.
The host discovered that The Savage Nation was pulled off the air and replaced by the “Curtis And Cooby Show,” in the Big Apple.
Not long after discovering he was pulled from WABC, as Savage was telling his audience what happened in New York, his live feed was suddenly cut off to many of his other affiliates and a replay of an earlier episode was substituted for the live feed."
