A white Ford tow truck stolen recently from a Richland towing company has the owner worried about more than just his property.

Sometime between Saturday night and Monday morning, the Ford tow truck was taken, belonging to RAD Towing of Richland. The large vehicle is capable of easily towing most vehicles, including trucks. Company officials say it's the type most commonly used to clear vehicles from accidents if they don't require a rollback.

The vehicle was relatively new, having just been purchased, and the company had not yet been able to place their distinctive logo and lettering on it.

That has owner James Hutchinson worried. Besides the loss of the truck, he is worried the thieves might use it to steal other vehicles more easily. He thinks either the perpetrators are "idiots" and have no idea what they got, or worse yet, they targeted the vehicle because it was a tow truck but didn't have any company identification.

A $500 reward is being offered for information leading to it's location and return. Police have not released any further information or if they have any leads. One unconfirmed report from a citizen reported seeing a truck matching that description Monday on Stover Road near Sunnyside.
