He was engaged in a standoff with Yakima police, after he broke into one home near in the 12000 block of Douglas Road arond 8pm, tied up a man inside, took a hostage then fled to another home.   His first hostage was able to get away, then Sregskinsi  broke into a second home near 65th. and Fremont Drive.

He took a girl inside hostage, and her father, after arriving home,  called police.   Yakima SWAT officers surrounded the home, and the standoff lasted several hours.  Around 11pm police were able to throw flash grenades into the home, enter, and rescue the girl.  However, they didn't find the suspect.

After sending in a robot to search the home, they they threw teargas canisters inside and stormed the rest of the residence.   Sregskinski was reportedly found in an upstairs room, dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

The investigation continues, none of the hostages were hurt.
