Shortly after 1pm,  Kennewick officials were notified that a woman was seen jumping off the Blue Bridge between Kennewick and Pasco,  on the east side.

A bike rider told 911 they saw the woman, believed to be in her 40's, jump into the frigid water.  Officials say, according to our news partner KNDU-TV, the woman swam to shore herself, and was helped out of the water by several Kennewick police officers who arrived  first on the scene.   Investigators say the woman reportedly left a bottle of sleeping pills on the bridge where she jumped off from.

She's been taken to Trios Health Center Emergency room (formerly Kennewick General Hospital) for possible treatment for hypothermia from the cold water.

Some media reports claim it was an apparently suicide attempt.  No other information was released.
