Comparing the Feb. 10 event in Pasco to Ferguson, Missouri, attorneys Jose Baez and Benjamin Crump said they have sent a formal letter asking for federal assistance.

The two attorneys held a Friday afternoon press conference in Pasco with Crump appearing via video camera from another location. Crump is a civil rights attorney who represented Michael Brown's family in the Ferguson case and the family of Tayvon Martin vs. George Zimmerman.

A third autopsy has been performed on Zambrano-Montes, but was inconclusive because the lawyers say they haven't been able to compare it to others, including the one done in Pasco.

Crump also compared the case to the shooting of Micheal Brown in Ferguson, claiming both men had their hands up. They also said videos of the Pasco incident posted online are increasing tensions between the Latino community and local law enforcement.
