Thanks to the persistence of the other car involved, a 24-year-old woman was arrested for DUI early Sunday morning after an accident near North Irving Place and West Clearwater Ave.

Around 5:28am, police got a call from a motorist who said they'd been in a hit-and-run accident, they were struck by another vehicle, which then sped away.  The other driver was able to call police and followed the sedan, gave police locations, and stayed on the phone until they arrived.

Officers found the driver, Dalia Rodriguez, and arrested her for DUI, Hit and Run Attended (meaning someone in the other vehicle) and Reckless Endangerment. That last charge was because there were two children in her vehicle with her.

Fortunately no one was injured in either vehicle in the wreck. Had the other driver not followed her, it's not likely she would have been found so quickly, if at all.
