Another Drunk Driver Loses Bout with Kennewick Roundabout

  Kennewick is known as the roundabout 'capital' of the US, well, one of the areas that are in the top ten when it comes to European-style intersections.

  Minivan driver plows through 4th and Kellogg roundabout early Friday

Perhaps traffic engineers knew that roundabouts would be a 'good' way to catch inebriated drivers because they can't negotiate the road course style driving.

Around 1:35 AM Friday morning, July 22,  A Kennewick Officer saw a minivan headed west on 4th plow through the roundabout, badly damaging 3 of its four tires.

The officer promptly pulled over the errant driver, and arrested them for suspicion of DUI, and got a trip to the Benton County jail.

By the way, according to the Guinness Book of World records, the largest traffic roundabout in the world is in the city of Putrajaya, Maylasia and it measures 2.11 miles in circumference!  To drive around the outside edge would take well over several minutes...wow!
