Area Officials, Groups Dump Live Meetings, Huddling Back Online This Week
"Due to the new masking mandates and the 08/20/2021 updated guidance from the Benton-Franklin Health District, the Town Hall scheduled for August 31st at Enterprise Middle School has been canceled. We will reschedule the event as soon as practicable."
This was what was released by West Richland Police on Monday, August 23rd, and posted on their Facebook page. They'd been publicizing their much anticipated Town Hall event coming up. But now, it's been bumped.
Earlier last week, we learned the Benton Franklin Health Department had "suggested" large events, including the Benton Franklin Fair, be canceled once again. But that did not happen, at least with the Fair.
However, one of the most popular booths at the fair, the Elephant Ears stand, will not be in operation. Rotary Club officials cited a lack of volunteers and rising COVID cases for not having their main fundraising even this year.
