A homeless family has had their baby taken from them by Child Protective Services, after being told the tent-camping enviornment was unhealthy for their infant.

Brian and Betty Carpich were told they cannot get their child back until their living situation improves.  Police said they were acting on an "open child welfare case" dating back to September 2010. An open case means CPS and other welfare agencies do not have satisfactory proof the baby is in a safe and healthy living enviornment.   The Carpich's told police they were waiting for subsidized housing to come through for them; but it was unclear why they were living in the Occupy Tent campsite.   Police said they acted on a tip and several complaints about a baby crying loudly and often during the nighttime hours, that baby turned out to be the Carpich's son, Zachariah.  Mr. Carpich acknowledged he has a criminal backround, but police said that had nothing to do with the situation with the baby.  The couple returned to the Dallas Occupy site after surrenduring their child to CPS.    Sources have also told CBS Dallas-Forth Worth anonymously that the Occupy movement is considering moving the site of the protest (going on a month now) to another location, or taking "other steps" to rid themselves of a number of homeless people who have taken up residence with the protestors.  Police have already arrested an alledged molester at the site earlier this week.   Area businesspeople and residents have complained that the Occupy movement has drawn with it a large number of  people they don't really want to have hanging around their downtown business district.
