On July 11th, we followed up with more information, that the Washington State Crime Lab, and other investigators were working in the area as the investigation continued.

The body was taken to Spokane where an autopsy was performed.

Now, Sheriff Mark Crider has released a statement that read in part:

"The body of the individual located on July 6 has been identified and next of kin has been notified. The deceased has been positively identified as Miguel Perez Barragan DOB: 5/18/1998, reportedly a resident of Tri-Cities. Other details surrounding this death investigation will not yet be released as this is an ongoing investigation."

More details are expected as the investigation progresses.
